Beach seine (Khmer name Uon Khov)
Beach
seines are widely used in the shallow water or along the beach. They are operated
with non-motorized boats or human power along the sandy beach without any
hauling device. All beach seines have the same design in the coastal area.
Beach seine is used for capturing small fishes as anchovy, sardine and shrimp
that live in the shallow water along the beach. So far this fishing gear is
used more by the fishermen who live in Kampot province and Kep municipality.
