1. Fish Trap


     The fish trap is locally called “Hmyone”. The design of fish trap varies according to the fish to be caught. The entrance is either funnel or wedge shaped. The pots are about 1 m long 0.5 m wide and 0.3 – 0.5 m height or diameter. Rattan and bamboo are most widely used material for making a fish trap. A majority of the fish traps have only one entrance. It has pointed bamboo funnel which prevent the escape of the fish after enter the trap. The fish pot is commonly used in the shallow water areas of river, stream and leasable. The fisherman operates these fish pots and one fisher may utilize from 25 to 60 fish pots at a time.
