Most of the seines net in Myanmar inland fisheries are operated
in shallow water, only one sample of surface seine net was taking by the survey period. The
gear is known as “U Zin Pite” was surveyed at Magwe. The net construction is very simple, and the netting
materials is PA monofilament 0.25 mm and mesh size is 20 mm. Upper edge and lower edge of the net are
hung with the PA 210D/30 as a head rope and foot rope. Small bamboo sticks fix on the wooden shoe
is supporting open net mouth. The head rope is tied at the top of the bamboo stick and foot rope is tied
with base of the wooden shoe. The fishermen pull the both end of the net by towing rope. It is used to catch
small pelagic fishes.
