Coconut pole and line is same as pole and line. Iron nail
about 60mm was used in place of fish hooks. Coconut pieces are fixed on the nails as bait. The
length of the bamboo pole is about 2.5 m, and line is about 1.5 m long. The pole and line is set into the mud
in shallow water areas. When the prawn comes and bites the coconut piece, the line shakes. Then the fisherman
in the boat pulls the line slowly upwards and collects the prawn with a scoop net. Coconut pole and
line are generally used about 80 – 100 sets at one time
