M.V.SEAFDEC 2, Fishery Research and Training Vessel of Southeast Asians Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) start her service for the SEAFDEC Member’s Countries since 2004. Currently, there are more than 500 fishing operation were conducted in the EEZ of Member Country. In each fishing operation, on-board researches record fishing data in each type of fishing gear log-sheet for attaching with cruise report as well as distributing to collaborated country for further analysis. However, with the only recorded location (Latitude and Longitude), it is difficult to imagine where is the working area.
This project is aim to assist related researcher and public to visualize location of M.V.SEAFDEC 2 fishing position on map using an effort of Google free mapping program, Google Earth. Fishing data is display in point and line format that easy to understand. Point is location of survey station while line is a route of fishing gear operation. This map survey present 5 fishing gears including Bottom Vertical Long-line, Pelagic Long-line, Squid Jigging, Trap and Trawl. At each point and line, user is able to see fishing data that will show in the new window on the Google Earth map.
