"Deep-Sea Resources Survey off Brunei Darussalam Waters" were conducted during 20 Sep.- 13 Oct. 2010 at the two main depth strata 100-200m and 200-300m. The survey implemented with three type of sampling gears (beam trawl, otter-trawl, deep-sea trap) separated into four legs of operations. "Seafloor Survey using Underwater Video Camera" To identify benthic resources and seafloor features for biodiversity or relationships in between. The techniue of towing the sledge attached with underwater VDO camera was introduced to the participants on October 19, 2010. "The Bottom Tophography" The survey was carried out before and during fishing operation using hydro-acoustic echo sounder. Sea depth (meter) and position (latitude and longitude) were recorded. A total of 4 transect lines were established consisting of 1 lines for the beam trawl, 2 lines for the Agassiz trawl, and 1 line of deep-sea trap. More> |
