"Deep-Sea Resources Survey off Brunei Darussalam Waters" were conducted during 20 Sep.- 13 Oct. 2010 on the continental slope areas at two main depth strata 100-200m and 200-300m. The survey implemented with three type of sampling gears (beam trawl, otter-trawl, and deep-sea trap) separated into four legs of operations. Moreover, the information on the physical and chemical oceanography were also collected.

At the survey area, 14 BTR, 9 OTR, and 2 DST were operated. Otter trawling were made from station to station and repeated tow in the same station was carried out using beam trawl. The objective is to compare the catch composition and studying on the change in fish community over time.

There were only 24 oceanographic stations completed during leg I, II and III (20 Sep. to 13 Oct.) due to the connector of Carousel Water Sampler had shorted during deployed at station A11. Marine biological data were collected on the larval fishes, juvenile fishes, and zooplankton using bongo and neuston net. The present survey was conducted during the transitional period between Southwest monsoon and Northeast monsoon (September to October). However, the inter-monsoon temperature variability along the continental shelf edge off Brunei coast could not be found compared to those previous surveys in 2009 at the same area.
